For Candidates

We’ve heard the stories about poor supervision experiences and have seen their impact on early-career clinicians. Our supervision program is intentionally designed to provide meaningful support, ethical guidance, and connection across experience levels.

  • Supervised by clinical director Harriet Bohanan, LPC, you will participate in weekly supervision meetings to ensure that when clinical or ethical challenges arise, you have consistent access to guidance and support. Once each month, an individual supervision session is replaced with a required group supervision meeting with other candidates. These group sessions provide space to consult on cases, discuss challenges and successes, and continue developing clinical skills together. All supervision meetings are mandatory as part of the licensure candidacy process.

Beyond supervision, our team supports you as you learn the realities of private practice. We provide guidance on building a caseload, navigating insurance and billing, and understanding the operational and financial aspects of clinical work that are often not covered in graduate programs. Candidates are encouraged and supported in marketing themselves through workshops, community events, and social media in ways that align with ethical and professional standards.

Our goal is to help you build a strong clinical and professional foundation so that when you reach licensure, you are confident, prepared, and positioned for long-term sustainability in your career.

  • Candidates are not siloed at Third Space. You work alongside fully licensed clinicians in a shared professional environment designed to support growth, collaboration, and longevity in the field.

You’ll have access to informal peer support, shared common spaces, and a culture that values consultation and mutual learning. Licensed clinicians regularly participate in consultation groups and community offerings, creating opportunities for connection beyond required supervision.

Our model is designed to bridge the gap between training and independent practice by offering both autonomy and support within a restorative professional community.

  • Candidates at Third Space work under a 35/65 split, with 65% of earnings per session going to the candidate.

The 35% goes to cover billing, insurance claims, and the operational systems that are rarely taught in graduate programs. Allowing you to focus on clinical work and skill development. This includes practice management systems, business taxes, documentation infrastructure, and operational oversight. Through supervision and workshops, you will learn how to manage these yourselves on a timeline that is manageable for you.

There are no hidden fees or escalating percentages. Our goal is to provide a financially sustainable model while you work toward full licensure.

Independent but never isolated.

If private practice feels like the only way out of soul-crushing supervision or group practices that feel like a revolving door — we’re here to tell you it’s not.

Use Third Space as a stepping stone toward your own practice, a breather from the burnout of doing it all alone, or a clinical home that truly fits.
