Hi There, I’m Shayla!

I am an LPC Candidate with a passion for helping teens and adults as they navigate depression, anxiety, and trauma. With a background in biology, I often bring scientific reasoning into sessions to help establish the connections between your mind and body—offering clear, grounded perspectives into internal processes that can make overwhelming experiences feel much more manageable. Bringing awareness to these physical aspects of wellness allows us to notice how stress and emotion show up in the body, creating space for acceptance, growth, and connection.

To nurture this holistic process, I integrate a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and a person-centered approach. Together, we can get to know your goals, needs, and values, while maintaining a peaceful healing environment.

At the same time, I believe that science and therapeutic modalities are simply tools to support your own unique journey. Empathy, compassion, and honoring your lived experience are at the heart of my practice. No two people experience life the same way, which is why I individualize my approach to fit your unique needs. You are always the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer a collaborative, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to narrate your own story. Whether you are brand-new to therapy or looking to continue your path to progress, I am ready to meet you wherever you are.
